Job Title: Accountant

We are seeking an accountant to join our dynamic team. You will have an accounting designation and general accounting experience, preferably in the service industry. In your role, you will provide supervision to the administrative department and perform a variety of accounting functions.

Relationships:

Reports to: General Manager
Supervises: Payroll / Accounts Receivable Admin Asst.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Supervision:
  • Oversees on-sight administrative department including supervision of accounting staff
  • Provides and coordinates training and development to support staff
  • Manages performance feedback including developing goals and addressing improvement when required
Accounting Functions:
  • Enters accounts payable invoice data and reconciles
  • Performs general ledger reconciliation and controls
  • Completes financial statement preparation
  • Oversees and completes month end preparation and oversight
  • Assists with budget development and monitoring
  • Completes banking requirements including reconciliations

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education:
Accounting designation preferred (CA, CMA, CGA).
However, equivalencies may be considered

Experience:
3 years post designation experience preferred
Experience in service industry preferred
